Power Your Home Sustainably with the Rebel Solar Generator
At RevoPower, we understand the importance of reliable and sustainable power solutions. Our Rebel Solar Generators have been empowering hundreds of homes across the US, ensuring energy independence and resilience in times of need. Whether it's during natural disasters like Hurricane Beryl or just everyday life, having a dependable power source is crucial.
Choose the Right Rebel for Your Home
The Rebel is available in 6kW, 12kW, and 18kW outputs, catering to different energy needs and budgets. It's essential to assess how much power you require to keep your home running smoothly. For example, my personal setup at home includes the 6kW Rebel, which powers the lights, fridge, TVs, and air conditioner. However, it won’t be able to simultaneously run the A/C, dryer, dishwasher, and other high output devices at the same time. For me, fridge, air conditioning and lights are my main priority.
Key Components of a Rebel Solar Generator
- Inverter: If your budget allows, I’d recommend getting the largest inverter possible. This is because the inverter is the only component that can’t be increased at a later time. You can always add more batteries and more solar panels.
- Batteries and Solar Panels: I recommend starting with a smaller amount of batteries/solar panels in the beginning. It’s very easy to add batteries and panels to the Rebel.
- Integration and Compatibility: You can order a 6-circuit or 10-circuit transfer switch separately which can integrate with your home, whether partially or entirely off-grid.
Air Conditioning and Power Consumption
Air conditioning in Texas is by far our top power consumer (unless you have an EV and drive a lot). I have about 6,000W of solar panels and a 14.4kWh battery module in my setup. It can run the air conditioner all day when the sun is out, but only a few hours when the sun is down. I would not recommend a system smaller than this if you intend to run a central air conditioner with it. We sell solar panels, and I would recommend our new 200W bifacial solar panels, however, often times it’s less expensive and easier to source your panels locally. You can find some great deals on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist on larger (300W+) panels that we just aren’t able to ship efficiently. My solar panels are a mix of both. If air conditioning isn’t a priority, you can probably cut all these numbers in half.
I have a 6 circuit transfer switch that powers about half of my house at all times, and I also have a generator interlock switch that can power the entire house when the grid is down. The Rebel works perfectly with these.
Wind Power as a Viable Addition
We’re one of the only companies that offers a full line of wind turbine controls for a solar generator of the scale of the Rebel and about half of the Rebel customers go this route, so it’s a great option.
Charging and Power Backup
All Rebel Solar Generators include 240V charging. This can be from the grid or from a traditional fuel generator. Charge rates vary a bit based on the model of Rebel but the 12kW Rebel can charge at 3,840W from the grid/generator. If your traditional generator has an auto-start function, the Rebel can start the traditional generator when the batteries get low. All of these 240V charging features are included on all Rebel Solar Generators for no extra cost.
